“This is love: to fly toward a secret sky, to cause a hundred veils to fall each moment. First to let go of life. Finally, to take a step without feet.” - Rumi

The Light & Honey Reading Series hosts a diverse gathering of local LGBT/ally artists at Giovanni's Room for performances and conversation about queer identity in Philly and love in all its forms. The night will begin with a panel discussion about queer writing in Philadelphia. Poets CA Conrad, Debrah Morkun, and Jane Cassady, spoken word artist J Mase III, and fiction writer Janet Mason will perform excerpts of their writing and converse about how love and queerness have shaped their work. Songbird Allegra Fletcher offers up a musical interlude; poetry by artists Octavia McBride Ahebee, Warren Longmire, Rachna Vohra and students from the Philly Youth Poetry Movement will follow. And every Light & Honey reading wraps up with an open mic so those who are inspired can add their voices to the mix!

Suggested donation is $5. This event is brought to you by APIARY Magazine, Philly's only all-ages literary magazine, and Light of Unity, an organization dedicated to creating artistic unity across our fair city.
